We have a phone number at the Parish office 9859 2272. Please use this new number from now on. For a period of time the old number will be diverted to the Office.
The annual Parish Picnic will be held at St Anne’s on Sunday March 5, from11.30am and will conclude around 2.30pm. Every one is invited! There will be a sausage sizzle, spit roast lunch with wine, beer and soft drink provided, as well as live music, singing performances, coffee, Devonshire tea and more. The picnic is free for all parishioners and includes kids activities, a giant slide and a jumping castle.
If you are able to help out on the day please come to a meeting on Tuesday February 28 at 10am in St Bede’s Parish Office.
DONATIONS: A Raffle will be held at the Parish Picnic to aid the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions and the ASRC, if you are able to donate something for a hamper please bring it to the parish office, or leave in the baskets provided in the churches.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION AND FIRST EUCHARIST
From 2017 children at St Anne’s will celebrate Reconciliation and First Eucharist in the same year, Grade 3.
Commitment Masses for this Sacrament and the Sacrament of First Eucharist will be held over the weekend of March 18 & 19. A Parent evening is scheduled for Tuesday March 7 at both St Anne’s and St Bede’s commencing at 7.30pm. This is when information regarding booking dates and times for First Eucharist will be given.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation must be completed before the Sacrament of First Eucharist.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated at St Anne’s Thursday March 30 at 7.30pm & St Bede’s Wednesday March 29 at 7.30pm.
Catechist classes for children not attending the parish primary schools will commence on Monday February 27. Classes commence at 4pm and are held at St Anne’s in the Multi-Purpose Hall and at St Bede’s in the Jarrow Room.
For children not attending the parish primary schools enrolments can be made through the Parish Office.

ST ANNE’S CHURCH – BUILDING WORKS UPDATE
In consultation with the Master Plan Committee, the architects and the builder, it has been decided that Monday February 20 will mark the beginning of the building works at St Anne’s Church.
We have decided to celebrate Mass in the School Hall which will mean we can move back into the Church much sooner. This will commence on the weekend of February 25 and 26. We anticipate being back in the Church the weekend of August 5 and 6.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word will be in recess.
Weekday Masses will be held at the Convent of the Sisters of the Holy Spirit, corner of Strathalbyn and Cadow Sts, one block from the Church, beginning Tuesday,
Funerals will be held at either St Joachim’s or St Bede’s. The reordering of St Joachim’s and minor maintenance works will take place in the near future. We ask for your patience and good humour during this time. Fr Werner

ARCHBISHOP HART LETTER REGARDING ROYAL COMMISSION
Archbishop Hart has written a letter to Melbourne Catholics prior to the final hearing involving the Catholic Church at the Royal Commission into Child Sexual Abuse commences in Sydney on February 6, 2017. The hearing is expected to conclude at the end of February. Copies of the letter are available at the rear of all Churches and here on the website on the menu on the left.
